SR-224 | Base elevation about 6,900 ft
Park City is open. Road surface: Dry. Weather: Fair. No traction restriction is posted for this corridor right now.
Data: UDOT Traffic | UDOT report Nov 4, 9:23 AM MT
Park City's two resorts are reached the interstate way: I-80 over Parleys Canyon and SR-224 in from Kimball Junction. That makes this the most reliable storm day drive in the bundle, because freight interstates get plowed like freight interstates, and the traction question lives on Parleys, a Class 1 and 2 designated segment, rather than in a Class 3 canyon with mouth enforcement.
Reliable is not the same as fast. The SR-224 corridor carries both resorts' arrival peaks plus the town's whole daily life on six signalized miles, and Sundance and powder Saturdays can queue it from the junction. The corridor verdict and junction cameras on our SR-224 page show it as it happens, and the Kimball Junction park and ride bus beats the queue on the biggest days.
Canyons Village signs first off SR-224; the Park City base and Deer Valley's Snow Park base route through town. Read the two verdicts as a pair the night before: Parleys for the climb and the gear, SR-224 for the arrival. That pair of reads is this entire drive, honestly told.
